Meet Haley & the story behind Coconut Shark!

At its roots, Coconut Shark started out as an idea to educate and promote conservation efforts for sharks. In 2018, the website was formed to increase awareness about the negative affects that shark finning has on the world and the consequences to shark populations.

Haley had planned to attend college in Hawaii to study sharks and earn a PhD in Marine Biology. As we all know, life happens and plans change. However, she had always dreamt of owning a Surf Shop.

After pursing a business degree and realizing the money spent on school should be put to better use, Coconut Shark was reinvented into a surf brand! Haley loves to surf and is passionate about sharks, so the inspiration between the two into a business made sense. In the future, the goal is to set up a fund that supports shark research and conservation!

Coconut Shark is based on the Gulf Coast of Florida and currently online-only.
